Challenge
Streamlining Technological Responsiveness
Medifé is today one of the leading prepaid medicine companies in Argentina. Together with Sanatorio Finocchietto and ASE Nacional, it has positioned itself as an organization that adapts to individual, family, and business needs even in times of health emergencies.
Continuing with this important stage of growth, they have more than 60 branches in the country to serve more than 320 thousand associates.
In this context, the company began an expansion process during 2019 that involved new challenges, pushing its technological response capacity to the limit in order to initiate the digital transformation demanded by the market. All this without leaving aside the surprising situation generated by the appearance of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first obstacle Medifé faced in this transformation was the need to develop a test and quality area to address the evolutionary and corrective testing aspects of its solutions. On the other hand, the testing stages required professionalization and presented difficulties in the production environments from the required methodological and control point of view.
These problems were compounded by factors such as time constraints, which led to a crisis related to a significant increase in backlogs, which reached around 900 unresolved tickets.
Solution
Immediate Services for New Challenges
To address these and other needs, ASAP provided a wide range of services, such as immediate inclusion of a testing team through Staff Augmentation, implementation of Qlik Sense through the Business Intelligence service, and, finally, a turnkey development through their managed services.
Staff Augmentation: Incorporation of Trained Professionals
Through the Staff Augmentation service, ASAP guaranteed the provision of collaborators with the necessary expertise to offer an effective solution, providing 70% of the qualified personnel in the Q&A area. In addition, collaborators from the Business Intelligence and Application Development areas also participated, with twelve people coming to contribute their talents, efforts and experience.
Qilk Sense: Data Transfer and Effective Implementation
Medifé needed to consolidate information so that the company’s senior management would have the right data in a timely manner, thus improving decision making. To achieve this, Qlik View was transferred to Qlik Sense–the updated version of the software–and a large number of dashboards were generated for different areas, giving rise to a new technological architecture of the data. These dashboards made it possible to visualize reports with the most important information from map and graphic views in a much more accessible way.
A total of 200 dashboards were implemented using Qlik Sense, with 50 developed by ITM and the remaining 150 developed by users with coaching provided by ITM.
